Services, Fees, and Policies

50 minute session - $250
90 minute EMDR session - $325

While I do not take insurance, if you have out of network (OON) benefits through your insurance plan, you may be eligible for full or partial reimbursement from your insurance company. I can provide you with a bill for services rendered, but I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company. You may also have to meet a deductible before you are eligible for reimbursement, so please check with your insurance company beforehand.

Why I don't accept insurance:

In order to take insurance, I am required to give you a diagnosis which implies that you are mentally ill and that diagnosis sticks with you for the rest of your life. Most of my clients are not mentally ill and are just struggling with difficult life circumstances, so this requirement just doesn’t sit right with me.

Insurance companies also sometimes require therapists that are on their panel to provide notes on their clients in order to justify continued treatment. I have an issue with providing a stranger with information about your personal life that goes into the permanent database of some insurance carrier.

The whole idea of being on an insurance panel and all the possible ramifications goes against my personal ethics.

Cancellation Policy:

I require at least 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations.
If you do not cancel before 48 hours of your visit, you will be charged the full fee for your visit.

When I take on a client, I am committed to holding space for them each week and I ask for the same commitment, barring extenuating circumstances.

Your spot is yours and yours alone.

If you do not show up consistently for your regular appointments,
then you will not be able to fully benefit from the therapeutic process.
I also choose to have a smaller caseload, so that I can give each of my clients the quality of care that they deserve.

Lateness policy:

I understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances occur, so if you know that you will be more than 5 minutes late for a session, please let me know. If I do not hear from you within 15 minutes of your scheduled session, I will attempt to reach you. If I am unable to reach you, I reserve the right to close off the session and you will be charged for the full visit. There are exceptions to this policy, which will be made on a case by case basis. Arriving more than 15 minutes late to a session, makes it difficult to do thorough work.

Phone calls:

I provide a 15 minute free phone consultation for new clients. For existing clients, the first 10 minutes of any call between sessions, is also free. After that, you will be charged a pro-rated amount depending on the length of the call.
